# SMELOC

> SMELOC is a marketplace for local businesses in Kenya, Zambia and Uganda. Buyers browse products and services from verified local sellers and contact the seller directly on WhatsApp to agree price, delivery or pickup, and payment. SMELOC does not take payments or handle delivery.

Key facts:
- Every seller is reviewed and approved before their listings appear.
- There is no cart or checkout fee; buyers deal with the seller directly.
- Listings rotate fairly so new sellers are seen alongside established ones.
- Sellers run their shop from the SMELOC app: sales/POS, stock alerts, quotes, invoices, receipts, expenses and simple books. New businesses start on a free trial, then a monthly plan.
